How to track and monitor heart rate

Tracking Heart Rate in the FitVisio App

To log your heart rate, follow these steps:

1. On the account homepage, under the overview section, select ❤️BPM in the form.
2. Enter the measured value.
3. Adjust the date of the entry (if necessary).

After each entry, the overview will update with a graph.

How to Measure Your Heart Rate?

Measuring on the Wrist (Radial Artery):

• Where to Measure: Place two fingers (index and middle) on the underside of your wrist, just below the thumb.
• What to Look For: You should feel the pulse of blood beneath your fingers.
• How to Measure: Count the number of beats you feel for 15 seconds and multiply that number by four. This will give you your heart rate per minute.
• Tip: Don’t press too hard with your fingers on the artery, as this can affect blood flow and distort the measurement.

Measuring on the Neck (Carotid Artery):

• Where to Measure: Place two fingers on the neck, to the side of the throat, near the lower jaw.
• What to Look For: You should feel the pulse.
• How to Measure: Similar to the wrist, count the beats for 15 seconds and multiply by four.
• Tip: Again, avoid applying too much pressure with your fingers on the artery to prevent affecting blood flow and the accuracy of the measurement.

Using a Smartphone App:

• There are many heart rate measurement apps that use your phone’s camera and flash. Simply place your finger on the camera lens, and the app will automatically calculate your heart rate.

Using Fitness Trackers and Smartwatches:

• If you have a smartwatch or fitness tracker, most of them come with a built-in heart rate sensor that can measure your heart rate continuously and more accurately than manual methods.

Tips for Measuring Heart Rate:

• You can enter your heart rate multiple times in the form within one day.
• If you use any type of fitness tracker or sports watch, you can record the average daily heart rate.
• If you are measuring your heart rate manually, it’s best to do so in the morning after waking up (for the most consistent results), around noon before meals, and in the evening before bed.
• If you don’t have a measuring tool with you all the time (e.g., on your wrist), multiple measurements throughout the day will provide a more accurate overview.
